A Survivor!

I am a firm believer that everyone has a story and if you just listen long enough, they will amaze you.
Here is mine.
When I was 17, the 3rd day of my senior year in high school, I was in a car accident. After the firefighters used the jaws of life to get me out of the car I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. My right ankle was broken in many places and all the ligaments and tendons were torn. As they prepped me for surgery I was asked to move my left foot. I couldn't remember where it was. I had had a stroke. I was flown immediatly to Barrows Neurological in Phoenix where it was determined that both of my Coratid arteries had torn in half. The right had closed off completely with a blood clot and I had suffered a major massive stroke and my left side was now paralysed. I also had (at least) 8 broken ribs, 2 collapsed lungs, a broken collarbone, bruised heart, lacerated liver-kidney-and spleen, severly messed up knees etc.....
I was not expected to make it through that first night, and when I did, it was expected that I would be severly mentally and physically challenged. After a LOT of prayer, faith, and hard work I relearned how to walk. I am still mostly unable to use my left arm and hand but am able to do what I need to and am grateful for this body I have. I know there will never be a moment I am not in pain, but I chose to be here and to live! I also choose to be happy and look forward to the future with hope!
And that is just ONE of my stories....
