Soooo close!

Re-modified.... again. If you remember back to HERE I changed my weight loss goal to what I figured was more realistic for a mom of 4... but as I looked at my goal today and realised I am only 5 pounds away, I knew I still had more to lose. So... my ticker at the top now reflects my goal - 135, which is also the lowest I should go - and still be in my healthy weight range! I am excited about this goal - as it gives me something to work for stll, and when I get there I can work on maintaining and toning up good! I am very lucky in that I don't usually have a tough time maintaining weight - just losing! But... I am getting sooooo close! YAY!
So... I had lost about 15 lbs(might have been 20... I stopped looking at the scalet hose last few weeks of pregnancy...) by the time I went to see the Dr at my 6 weeks postpartum checkup. That is when I started my ticker from - so technically I have lost 80 lbs in one year (as of yesterday - Happy Birthday BABY!) and have 15 more to go... WOW!!! That is almost 100 (95)! I hadn't even realised that until I sat down to type this! I had NO idea I had gotten that fat! But, when you gain 60-70 pounds per pregnancy... and then just once don't lose enough in between... that is a lot of weight! (I got preggo with #4 with 20 lbs to go from #3 who was only 9 months at the time!)
I am pretty excited and proud of myself... my next goal - to magically become one of those women who only gains 20 pounds during pregnancy!

Hi Kristi!

I'm not sure you'd remember me, but we were in the same ward together for a LONG time (you were one of the few girls in YW that were actually nice to me - thank you so much for that!), and we both went to Coconino for a year (my freshman year, your senior year). We were both in choir with Mr. Riddle, and I LOVED it! But anyway... My family ended up moving during the summer of 1998.

I just read your story down at the bottom of your blog. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I can't remember if it was snowing or raining, but I do remember not being able to see much farther than the front of the car for a while that day, and I remember (vaguely) that it was slick (so it was probably snowing). When Mr. Riddle told everyone that you had been in a car accident, we all prayed so hard for you. Even some of the guys that you'd never expect to say a prayer in their life prayed for you - I remember John Hagar and this kid named Adrian (major stoner, almost goth, but super nice) both prayed for you that day.

I remember being shocked, as we all were, but we all rallied behind you and were rooting for you. I remember being really happy and relieved when you came back to school.

I have often thought of you and wondered where you went and how you were doing. I am so happy to see you happy and healthy!

Thank you so much for being nice to me when we were in young womens. Without you and Shawna Busby, I'm sure that I would have hit my "rebel phase" much sooner and it could have been much worse. (No worries, though... My hubby and I are sealed in the temple along with my step-son, and subsequently our children.) I can't get rid of the feeling that I wouldn't have made it here without some kindness shown to me when I was 12 & 13 by even just a couple of the girls in mutual with me. You were definitely one of those girls, so I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you so much! I can't explain how grateful I am for you and how grateful and happy I am to see you healthy, happy, and alive - with a beautiful family to boot!

Feel free to check out my blog, if you want to. It's just me blabbing about my 4 kids and our family adventures, along with a few blips here and there about me and my health roller coaster that has ended with surprising results (actually, I think the majority is about the results... What you said about being in pain and being unable to use your left arm - I have similar issues, but they're not from a stroke after a car accident, just a genetic metabolic muscle disease... :) ), and my many business endeavors (mostly just sitting there or given up on, unfortunately). It would just be nice to keep in touch a little better, since all we do, really is glance at each other's Facebook posts right now...

You and your family are in our prayers with that huge fire so close to your home. I hope that the Lord will see fit to calm the winds and the flames. My love and thoughts go with you all.

Stay positive! Somehow I know that everything will be all right if you are prepared and have faith. (I have no doubt that you have your 72 hour kits ready at the door and have the faith to move mountains. You were always a spiritual rock in my eyes.)

Thanks again for everything, and I hope that all is well in your world.

All my love!

Oh! And congrats on being so close to your goal weight!! That is AWESOME! I am one of those women that only gains between 20 & 30 lbs each pregnancy, but I just can't for the life of me lose it afterward (and it always seems like I gain more AFTER the baby is born - SO NOT FAIR!!)... So you can probably imagine how much weight I have to tackle after 4 babies (& several miscarriages that left a few lbs - but it added up fast!), but with a muscular disease that makes it difficult to exercise it becomes a HUGE challenge.

I will find a way, though! I am determined to lose at least 30 lbs by the time I'm 30. That gives me ample time to do it, since I have to do it all (almost) with diet.

Good luck!! I know you'll be able to do it, no problem. It sounds like you're really motivated and determined. And consistent. I've found that is the biggest key to doing anything right.

Can't wait to see how things all turn out!

P.S. Thanks for the swim suit recommendation! Can't wait to shop for a new suit now... :)

Caongrats, Kristi! You definitely deserve it. You've worked so hard.

Now you can say you're a head taller and twenty pounds skinnier than me! :o)
